We're a family-owned and operated company that began with the vision of Alan B. Rose.

Alan, or "Al" as he's known to many, didn't set out to get rich. Instead, in 1979, he wanted to build a business that would keep him afloat while genuinely serving and safeguarding his community.

Upon his recent retirement, Al proudly passed the reins to his daughter, Tabitha.

Today, Tabitha operates the company alongside her supportive husband, Richard, and her son, Spencer, all continuing the legacy of dedication and community service that Al started.

Who we are

Starting out

Before it was a family business, this venture started as an idea Al passionately championed, working tirelessly to promote while educating the community.

Halotron

The extinguisher shown in the video ceased production in 1994 due to the Montreal Protocol. This international treaty banned its manufacture because of its severe impact on the ozone layer. It was subsequently replaced by the Halotron extinguisher, which achieves the same fire suppression results using clean agents that do not harm the ozone layer.

Meet the team

the family behind the business

Al (with Tabitha on the left)

Driven by a deep commitment to his community and family, Al built his business from the ground up.

Beyond his demanding work of selling and inspecting fire suppression equipment, he dedicated his time to preparing sermons for the church he personally built and serving as a certified EMT with the local fire department.

Richard (with Tabitha on the right)

Having spent decades as a Class A interior firefighter, truck operator, and CFR, Richard brings his real-world experience in fire prevention to R. Slater Enterprises, his own company dedicated to cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment and exhaust systems. All while working alongside his wife, Tabitha, supporting her every step of the way.

Spencer

As Tabitha's middle son, Spencer has taken on a crucial role, picking up where his mother left off in the family business.

Now under his mother's leadership, Spencer dedicates himself to customer relations and is working to launch the company into the digital era.

When he's not out inspecting and maintaining fire suppression systems, he's continually devising strategies to optimize operations, ultimately benefiting both customers and the community.
